On Nov. 7, the Richmond Police Department charged Irvine resident Desarae Thacker, 22, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Oct. 21.
A resident of the 300 block of Big Hill Avenue reported that an electric bass guitar was stolen from his apartment while he was not home. The guitar was valued at $300. Thacker was named as a possible suspect in the theft.
A follow-up investigation determined that she had been in possession of the guitar and had passed it along to another party not long after the theft.
A warrant for Thacker’s arrest was issued on Nov. 2, charging her with burglary, second degree and theft by deception. On Nov. 7, Thacker was located at Walmart and taken into custody without incident. She was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
The Richmond Police Department also charged Robert B. McIntosh, 52, of Ravenna for drug offenses after he was arrested for D.U.I. on Nov. 10.
Around 8 p.m on that date, an officer saw a vehicle being driven erratically by McIntosh on Lexington Road. The vehicle continued onto Interstate-75, northbound, where the officer stopped the vehicle and took McIntosh into custody once the officer determined that he was under the influence of an intoxicant.
When McIntosh was searched, four oxycodone pills and four phentermine pills were found.
He was charged with D.U.I., possession of a controlled substance, first degree, and possession of a controlled substance, third degree, and he was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
The RPD also charged Michelle K. Cornett, 30, on Nov. 12, in connection with a home burglary.
Around 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported burglary in progress at a residence in the 2100 block of Catalpa Loop. When police arrived, they talked to the resident who reported that a female, later identified as Cornett, had entered her home through an open bedroom window and stolen $160 in cash before she fled on foot. After a description of the suspect was broadcast, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies located Cornett at the Redi Mart on Irvine Road.
She was delivered to RPD at the crime scene where she was taken into custody and charged with burglary, second degree, public intoxication and resisting arrest. A bank envelope and $50 of the stolen money was recovered from her groin area. She was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
