Nancy Ann Tipton, 33, died Saturday in a car accident on Highway 52 just west of Irvine. A resident of Mountain Crest, the mother of three was employed by Wendy’s.
Mary Ballard worked with Nancy on night shift there.
“She was the sweetest person,” said Mary. “She would do anything for anybody.”
She also said Nancy was a devoted mother.
“Her babies were the world to her,” she said.
Nancy had a daughter, Paige Angela Benaccia Watson, and two sons, Jacob Lee Tipton, and Casey James Tipton. Her loving companion was Jimmy Watson.
According to a Kentucky State Police report, the Richmond Post responded to a collision on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 around 1:30 in the afternoon. It happened at the junction of the Joseph Proctor Memorial Bypass and Kentucky Highway 52.
The initial investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Malibu failed to stop at a red light and attempted to make a left turn onto Kentucky 52 from the bypass. The driver’s side of the vehicle was struck after the vehicle drove directly into the path of a GMC truck that was traveling west on Kentucky 52.
Tipton was transported to the UK Medical Center where she passed away.
The driver of the truck, John McCord, 69, of Richmond, was not injured in the collision.
The Estill County Rescue Squad and Estill County EMS assisted Trooper Bobby Edwards and Trooper Charles Brandenburg at the scene.
