On Monday morning, River City Players board members, County Judge-Executive Wallace Taylor and other courthouse employees gathered on the courthouse lawn to kick off a “capital campaign” for purchase of the old Mack theater on Main Street.
RCP board member Penny West said $75,000 would buy the Mack, which will be used to develop tourism and the arts in Estill County. While the RCP has a long way to go to reach their goal, they have already raised money to pay for an architectural survey of the Mack, as well as some line drawings of renovations needed.
