The Irvine Police Department conducted a wide-spread round-up of drug-traffickers last week after a two-monthlong independent investigation into drug trafficking within the county.
On September 25, the IPD, assisted by the Kentucky State Police and other law agencies, arrested 28 people, most of whom are suspected traffickers.
On September 26, two other related arrests were made, and police are still looking for at least one man.
The charges include individuals who live in Ravenna, Irvine and Estill County.
Some of the defendants were still in custody from previous arrests, and were served with Grand Jury indictments. They are Jack Cockrell, James Rose, Pamela Estes, James Estes, Samuel Lucas Willis and Glenn Newton.
The remaining arrests were of people not currently incarcerated. A complete run-down of those arrested last Thursday and Friday follows.
Jack R. Cockrell, Jr., 56, of 810 South Irvine Road, was indicted by Kentucky State Trooper Zach Thompson on warrants for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance third degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
James M. Estes, 49, of 291 Turner Avenue, was served bench warrants by Kentucky State Trooper Zach Thompson. The warrants were for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance third degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school; and trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Pamela D. Estes, 40, of 291 Turner Avenue, was arrested by Kentucky State Trooper Zach Thompson on a bench warrant from the IPD for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance, third degree, first offense; for trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Nakoa L. Crowe, of 310 3rd Street in Ravenna, was arrested by the Lexington Police Department on a warrant for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense.
Jonathon F. Harrison, 29, of 277 Broadway, was arrested on a warrant of indictment for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense and for being a persistent felony offender.
Samuel L. Riddell, 32, of 125 Rogers Lane, was also served two sets of warrants by Trooper Zach Thompson. He was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school; trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; and trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Riddell was previously arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and alcohol, for failure to illuminate head lamps, for possession of marijuana, and for possession of a controlled substance, second degree (barbiturate).
Michael J. Harlow, 41, of 719 Broadway, was arrested by IPD Chief Brad Smith on an indictment warrant for trafficking in controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance, third degree, first offense; and trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Glenn Newton, 60, 372 Church House Hill, 60, was arrested on a warrant for promoting contraband, first degree.
Warrant of indictment was executed against James G. Rose, 58, of 860 South Irvine Road by Sergeant Michael Gross. The indictments were for trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Maggie R. Puckett, 46, of 294 Turner Avenue, was arrested on a warrant of indictment by IPD Officer John Sturniolo for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Regina T. Puckett, 46, of 114 4th Street in Ravenna, was arrested by Sergeant Michael Gross for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense.
Larry D. Johnson, Jr., of 420 4th Street in Ravenna, was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, and trafficking in a legend drug, first offense.
Sarah Hardy, of 205 Scott Court, was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Bobby W. Hardy, 54, of 205 Scott Court, was arrested by Captain Adrian McKinney after Hardy sold two Lortab Plus to a confidential informant at his place of residence. This location is within 1,000 feet of Estill Springs Elementary School. He was also charged on a bench warrant issued by Jackson County Circuit Court for failure to appear in court traffic and drug charges.
Matthew Riddell, 34, of Wisemantown Apartments was arrested on a warrant of indictment by Sergeant Michael Gross on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense, and trafficking in legend drugs, first offense.
Amber L. Crouch, 28, of 1724 Chestnut Stand, was arrested by the Paris Police Department on a warrant for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense.
Dustin Neal, 22, of 801 Broadway Street, was arrested on September 26 by IPD Chief Brad Smith on a warrant after Neal allegedly sold a marijuana joint to a cooperating witness for five dollars. Neal also had several other pre-rolled marijuana joints and cash on him. The cooperating witness was wired with audio and video recording equipment. Trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces is a class A misdemeanor.
Margaret L. Richardson, 56, of 1690 Cobb Hill, was arrested by Kentucky State Trooper Zach Thompson on a bench warrant for public intoxication with a controlled substance and for promoting contraband, first degree.
Scott E. Plowman, 36, of 462 Morgan Avenue, Lexington, was arrested on bench warrants by Kentucky State Trooper Zach Thompson for possession of controlled substance, third degree; promoting contraband, first degree; and for being a persistent felony offender.
Wallace “Frog” Crowe, 79, of 140 Henry White Road, was arrested by Kentucky State Trooper K. Bradley on warrants for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense, and trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.
Charles Webb, 40, of Northwood Apartments, was served a warrant of indictment for wanton endangerment, first degree, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, and disregarding a stop sign.
A bench warrant was executed for Webb for failing to submit for a random drug test on September 1. There were several underlying charges.
On Friday, September 26, Belinda Rawlins, 23, of 300 Hensley Lane, was interviewed by the IPD about illegal drug activity at 294 Turner Avenue. According to a police report, Rawlins admitted to assisting in drug trafficking by finding buyers and sending them to 294 Turner Avenue to purchase drugs. She said she would receive 25 percent of profits, or five to ten dollars. She was arrested by Officer John Sturniolo and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree (complicity).
Donna Doty, 42, of 4235 Richmond Road, Apt. 1, was arrested by IPD Officer Karl Rifenbark after she sold ½ of an oxycodone 30 mg. Pill to a confidential informant, according to a police report. When she was mirandized, she admitted that she would purchase pills and sell them to friends from time to time. Doty gave verbal consent to having her car and belongings searched, and ½ of a suboxone pill was located in a cigarette pack inside her purse.
Kenneth Durbin, 44, of 128 Durbin Road in Beattyville, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer John Sturniolo on the charges of criminal mischief 3rd degree, criminal trespassing 3rd degree, theft by unlawful taking, $500 or more but under $10,000.
Douglas J. Simons, 45, of 280 Red Bud Mountain in Campton, was served a bench warrant by Irvine Police Captain Adrian Mckinney on the charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place, 1st and 2nd offense.
Ashley N. Hall, 24, of 332 Turner Avenue in Irvine, was served a warrant of arrest by Irvine Police Officer Karl Rifenbark. Hall was charged with trafficking a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. Hall sold four Loratab 10 mg. pills to a witness for $40 on 8/18/14.
Bobby Welch, 60, of 529 Broadway in Irvine, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer Karl Rifenbark on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense.
Kristin Neal, 28, of 268 Broadway in Irvine, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer Karl Rifenbark on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense. Neal was also charged as a persistent felony offender.
Greg Neal, 33, of 264 Broadway in Irvine, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer John Sturniolo on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 1st and 3rd degree, 1st offense.
Samuel G. Crowe, 59, of 445 Greens Crossing Road in Richmond, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer Karl Rifenbark on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense.
Donna L. Stone, 33, of 445 Greens Crossing Road in Richmond, was served a warrant by Irvine Police Officer Brad Smith on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. Stone sold four Xanax Bars to a witness for $48 in August.
Anthony E. Scenters, 50, of 614 Broadway in Irvine, was served an indictment warrant by Irvine Police Officer Brad Smith on the charges of trafficking a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense.
Police are still looking for William “DD” Puckett. He is wanted by the Irvine Police Department on drug trafficking charges. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to call 723-2201.
