Taylor’s Small-Engine Repair Shop opened for business on Monday at 187 Broadway in Irvine. The shop was formerly occupied by mechanic Ronnie Mays.Anthony Taylor, a resident of Lee County, has been servicing small engines and large equipment since 2002.
He is a certified technician specializing in repairing brands like Huskee, Massimo, Poland, Cub Cadet and others. He repairs lawnmowers, chainsaws, all kinds of outdoor power equipment, as well as ATVs and UTVs.
He has an associate’s degree in business management and has training for working on heavy equipment.
For the past year, Taylor has been operating his own shop, while continuing to do warranty work for Tractor Supply.
His business picks up and delivers, and they also do on-site or in-shop repairs.
Taylor is officially a resident of Lee County, but he owns some rental properties in Estill County.
He said he once lived on a farm on Hwy. 1209 in Estill County about five years ago, and his in-laws, George and Sue Coulter, are from here.
Taylor also owns snow removal equipment and has been busy clearing snow from walkways and sidewalks the past couple of weeks.
In warm months, he has a crew that does landscaping and mowing.
The shop on Broadway keeps some parts in stock, or they can order any parts and have them soon.
They also sell new and used equipment.

The repair shop is open on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. When the weather warms up, Taylor will be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
