Carhartt’s Irvine Supply Chain Operations Center hosted a different type of “edit_smilesDay of Giving” last Friday as employees of that facility volunteered their time and attention to needs around the county.

The day kicked off with lunch and a welcome message at the center on June 10, then volunteers scattered to one of several destinations to begin
helping out.

The signs will direct people to Estill County attractions.

At the Estill County Animal Shelter, Carhartt employees weed-eated, planted flowers, walked and bathed dogs and donated 25 dog beds that were made locally in the Supply Chain Operations Center.

A second group of employees played games with residents of the Irvine County Nursing Home and Rehab Facility, while another group sorted clothing for the Helping Hands clothing giveaway program.

Volunteers also painted a wall at the Twin City Trail Town hub
in Ravenna and painted signs at the hub that will be erected to mark trails throughout the county.

“We have received great feedback from the community related to our Day of Giving efforts and planning for next year’s event is already underway,” said William Hardy, senior vice-president of the Supply Chain Operations Center.
