On-stage-kidsedit-The River City Players have been busy rehearsing for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” their very own rendition of a familiar production.
Susan Hawkins, chairperson for the River City Players, said the production “is not like it has ever been seen before.”
She urges everyone to come see what happens when the six unruly Herdman children disrupt church services, and both churched and unchurched learn a lesson about the true meaning of Christmas.
The River City Players have been rehearsing three times a week since September, Hawkins said.
“We have such talented people here in our community,” she said, “and we are just now beginning to see it.”

Eighteen children and seven adults make up the cast for the Christmas play.  For last year’s production, the sets were pretty much “mimed,” Hawkins said, but “this year’s sets are looking pretty professional!”

The play will be presented on Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m.  at the Estill County High School auditorium.  Tickets are $5 for those 12 and under, and $10 for adults.
