Man charged with eight counts of forgery

State police have charged an Irvine man with eight counts of forgery after he allegedly took checks belonging to Neil Mays and wrote them to himself.
Stuart Allan Reece, 27, of 262 Mountain Crest, was charged by Trooper Zach Pennington for offenses that allegedly occurred between the dates of July 27, 2014 and November 30, 2014.
The police report said Reece took the checks from Neil May’s home, wrote them to himself, forged the victim’s name and cashed them.
One check was cashed at Irvine Stop and Shop for the amount of $200, another written in September was for $200, another check written in November for $300 was cashed at Dollar Deals, a second written at Dollar Deals in November was for $340, and a third written at Dollar Deals in November was for $275.  On November 30, a check was cashed at Dollar Deals for the amount of $300.
Reece was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition less than $500, eight counts of forgery, second degree; and criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree.
His bond was set at $5,000 cash.
