An Estill County man has been served a warrant for an incident that occurred in March, 2014.
According to the warrant, Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Farthing stated that Jeffrey Scott Estes, 31, of 5050 Crooked Creek Road, “intentionally and wantonly” damaged Ronnie Abney’s vehicle by hitting it several times with a stick, resulting in approximately $1,200 in damages.
Farthing stated that when he arrived on the scene at the Stop and Shop parking lot, the defendant was under the influence of a controlled substance, and he was screaming, yelling, making threats and attempting to fight others, causing a disturbance.
Farthing also stated that he placed the defendant under arrest, but while he was dealing with others on the scene Estes escaped from custody. He was ordered by Farthing to stop several times, but Estes continued to flee, running into nearby woods.
Estes was charged with criminal mischief, first degree; public intoxication; disorderly conduct, second degree; escape, third degree; and fleeing or evading police, second degree.
Estes has been ordered to be in court on February 11, at 9 a.m. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail on unrelated matters.
His bond was set at $10,000 cash.
