Wilma Pugh recently opened her own shop called Wilma’s This, That and More in the old Ravenna post office building.
Although Wilma Noland Pugh has been setting a sign outside of her newly opened business for a couple of months now, she said she’s about to do an “official” opening on Dec. 15.
The shop, which she calls “Wilma’s This, That and More,” is located in the old Ravenna post office building at the corner of Seventh Street and Main Street in Ravenna and overlooks the railroad tracks.
“My dad, grandfather and a brother all worked for the railroad. This place is special to me,” Wilma said. “I hate to see old stuff go.”
The shop sells homemade crafts and primitives, including grapevine and tobacco stick trees. She has tools, glassware, books, collectibles, name-brand clothes–both new and used, some quilt tops and furniture as well as lots of other odds and ends.
Booth space is available to rent to other crafters and antique dealers.
Wilma says she has lived most of her life in Richmond, but, plagued with several health problems, she wanted to be nearer her son and grandchildren.
Joe, her son, comes in and helps her move things around the store on occasion.
A former employee of Irvine Industries for 18 years, Wilma indulges her creative side by writing songs. She’s also working on a couple of children’s books and a movie script.
She also likes to plan benefits and help people out. During her official opening day, she’ll offer a discount to anyone who brings in a non-perishable food item.
For further information, call Wilma at 859-200-6106 or stop by and see her at 630A Main Street, Ravenna.
Shop hours are from 11 a.m. to 5: p.m. on weekdays, and on Saturday, Dec. 15, she will have an open house, beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until “whenever.” She’ll be serving refreshments and giving away a few door prizes.
Wilma would like to wish everybody a safe and happy holiday.
